PEDALLING JESUS (Tom’s Blog)
Thoughts on faith, family, football, pedalling, pop culture and politics from a middle aged mountain biking minister.
N.B. These are the thoughts of Tom Wharin, rather than CSBC!

CROSS Cultural Christianity
At the end of days, it’s the Lamb's book of life rather than any opinion of mine that counts, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Alexei bringing the borscht to the feast in the kingdom.

8.0 Drubbings
If we pretend that men and women are the same in all respects, 8:0 drubbings will be the least of our worries.

Gorky Pies
We all tell our kids not to lie. Small lies become big lies. Eventually you believe your own lies and you end up hanging out with other liars and believing their propaganda...

It’s just another case of history repeating
human beings make really bad mistakes repeatedly… God’s way seems to be to confront and correct these things rather than repeating them.

Why I don’t mind a bit of technology
today, I took the pills and rode the ebike up to church with thankfulness in my heart to God for all the industrialists, chemists, engineers and other geniuses that made them.

My ridiculous prayers
I suddenly realise that I am praying in my public voice, in my head.. And how ridiculous that must sound to the creator and sustainer of the universe.

The Balrog Scrolling Meme
The compulsion to scroll is a challenge to self-controlled adults and seems to be utterly irresistible for teenagers. The Balrog and all other manner of horrors are down there.
Nice one Justin
I don’t dot my theological i’s the same way as Justin Welby when it comes to baptism, bishops, and blessings, but I do think he’s been a rock in a very hard place for the last 10 years and have often appreciated his comment and leadership in national life.

Stuck in the Middle with you
as a Christian, I often feel stuck in the middle in modern party politics

There is Such a Thing as Normal
When we explained, the facilitators were agog: “these kind of courses don’t deal with that kind of stuff”. THAT’S NOT NORMAL.

Pedalling Jesus episode 1
I don’t feel that it’s fair or wise for me to foist my lifestyle on others. That said, it does seem obvious to me that if everyone who could cycle did cycle then the NHS, our roads and our communities would all be much healthier.
